McWilliams, E. G. GILMER - Services for E.G. McWilliams, 84, of Big Sandy, will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2007, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with Bro. Seth Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Chilton Cemetery. Mr. McWilliams passed away Friday, December 14, 2007, in Tyler. He was born on August 7, 1923, in Hope, Arkansas, to Early and Lotus McWilliams. Mr. McWilliams lived in Big Sandy for 53 years and was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Big Sandy. Mr. McWilliams was a plant foreman for National Homes Corporation in Owentown, Texas, for 35 years after helping build the plant. Mr. McWilliams is survived by his wife of 65 years, Norma Pickering McWilliams of Big Sandy; one son and daughter-in-law, Everett "Skip" and Barbara McWilliams of Big Sandy; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mayo Brown of Big Sandy; one granddaughter, Kelly Brown of Holly Lake; three grandsons, Glen McWilliams of Orlando, Florida, Grant McWilliams of Belton, Texas, and Kevin McWilliams of Big Sandy; also several nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. No set visitation is scheduled. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 12/16/2007.
