GLADEWATER MEMORIAL PARK - UPSHUR COUNTY


Services for Vernon D. “Buck” Presswood, 88, of Gladewater, Texas will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater with Reverend Ricky Joe Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Gladewater Memorial Park. Buck Presswood passed on July 7, 2015 in Longview, Texas.

Mr. Presswood was born to Clem and Ada Presswood on August 29, 1926, in Cut and Shoot Texas, Montgomery County. He eloped with his sweetheart, Billie Bishop, on February 16, 1957 and their final home of residence was Gladewater. He served in the Army during WWII as a military policeman in the Philippines. Buck was a Baptist and worked as a Pumper/Gauger with Texaco, Inc. for 42 years. He also operated a successful lawn mower repair shop until 2014. He loved his family, old westerns, good ole’ gospel and country music, fishing, hunting, gardening, his wife’s home cooking and lots of peanut butter.

He is survived by his daughter, Candace Lee Presswood of Gladewater, Texas.

Vernon Buck Presswood was preceded in death by his precious wife, Billie; his son, Gary Presswood; his parents, and siblings.

Serving as pallbearers are Charlie Myers, Hack Thompson, Mark Allen, Mike Cline, Dewayne Baker, and Sonny Hartley.

Honorary pallbearer will be “Unkle Dallas”.

No formal visitation is scheduled.
