GILMER — Memorial services for James L. 'Jimmy' Townsend of Richardson will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 11 A.M. at Gladewater Memorial Park with Reverend Bailey Harris officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer..

Born on October 31, 1930, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he died on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in Richardson, Texas. 

He was a veteran of the United States Army, a retired branch manager, and a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Townsend; two sons, Brent Townsend and Trent Townsend; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister, Edna Millier.

No visitation is scheduled.
