November 27, 1928 - June 25, 2008 Services for Dalton E. Wilson, 79, of Longview, will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, at First Baptist Church Ford Chapel, with the Rev. David English, Aubrey L. Pate and the Rev. Dick Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in East Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Wilson passed away Thursday, June 25 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Dalton was born in Lochesburg, Ark., November 27, 1928. He graduated from East Mountain High School in 1947. Dalton worked for Texas Eastman for 37 years and retired as shift supervisor in the Texanol division in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Jo Parker Wilson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman and Katherine Wilson, Leon and Betty Wilson and Marguerite Wilson; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tommy Sweaks, Sharon and Billy Pierce, Carole and J.J. Black and Pam and David Brewer; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Diane Wilson; stepson and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Janis Parker; 18 loving grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; loved nephews and nieces; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joan Wilson; parents, Ora and Emmett Wilson; brother, Thomas Wilson; and sister, Louise Young. Dalton enjoyed fishing, hunting, travel, watching football and boxing, and spending time with his family. In his lifetime, Dalton enjoyed several wonderful memories, including a state championship with his high school basketball team, deacon of East Mountain Baptist Church and several mission trips, including one to Japan. His positive impact on those who knew him and his love and concern for others will be felt for many years.
