Memorial services for Richard Yocom, 74, of Gilmer will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Laster and Pat Camp officiating. He passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015 in Gilmer. 

Mr. Yocom was born on July 4, 1941 in Upshur County to Cody R. Yocom and Johnnie Mae Brown Yocom. He retired from the United States Postal Service and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gilmer. 

Mr. Yocom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nell “Sam” Yocom of Gilmer; mother, Johnnie Yocom of Gilmer; daughters, Pam Varnado and Wayne Henson of Gilmer, Rhonda Yocom and Perry Carter of Jefferson, sisters, Jane Davis and husband, Phil of Gilmer; sister-in-law, Betty Lou Yocom of Gilmer; grandchildren, Cody Anderson and Rozella Chesnut, Dustin Varnado and wife, Kachell, Cassie Hutton and husband, Galen, Nicole Johnston and husband, Chris, Connie Simon and husband, Matt; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Cole, and Cason Hutton. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Cody Yocom; brother, Sherwin Yocom and granddaughter Cheyenne Green. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
