WHEELER - Duane G. "Dunk" Porter, 55, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ricky Carstensen, pastor, officiating. Private burial will be in Porter Ranch Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.

Mr. Porter was born to Glen and Madge Glass Porter, prominent early-day Panhandle ranchers, on Dec. 11, 1946, in Wheeler. Dunk graduated from Wheeler High School and attended Oklahoma State University where he played football for four years. He was a member of United Methodist Church of Wheeler.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Kendra Porter and Camille Porter, both of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Grayson Benson of Amarillo; a sister, Glenda Porter of Wheeler; and a brother, Jim Porter of Wheeler.

The family suggests memorials be to Wheeler Ex-Students Association, Wheeler, TX 79096.
