1830 - Federal Census has family in New Castle, Henry Co, IN
1838 - Moved to Miami Co., IN 
1839 - Birth of Benjamin Franklin Cady in Miami Co., IN
1840 - Federal Census has family in Richland, Miami Co, IN
1846 - Jun 25, William joined in Shelby County. at New Albany, Indiana, 3rd Regt Indiana Vols,Co H. Served in Mexican War with Gen. Lane 
1848 – July Family moved to Texas as BJC purchased land here. Travel was likely down the Wabash to the Mississippi and on to New Orleans, about 1100 miles or two months by flat boat or about a week by Steamboat.  
1849 - Catherine died likely in transit of Cholera which was all over the Mississippi Valley at this time. 
1850 - Federal Census (June) La Grange, Fayette Co, TX has BJC, sons BFC and JCC. Catherine is missing. It appears one of the sons gave the info as the age, State born and name were different (Cadey) (p. 213)   
1850 - Federal Census (June) William is working on the Burleson Ranch near La Grange.(p. 215) JD is possibly on another ranch.  Silas was in Shelby Co, IN, Henry was on way to California. Polly was in Indiana. 
1850 - Federal Census District 12, Henderson, TN Margaret E Daniel and James W with three Children Malinda (5) James B (4)William J Daniel (2) James W Daniel (28) gone after 1855 he left the family in Texas.  
1855 - October 16 William died: at Lagrange Texas, unmarried. County population was a cramped 4000 many from Germany.
