To the Worshpful Master, Wardens, and brothers...Lodge No. 335 A.F. & A.M.
Brethren:
Whereas the Divine Master of the universe in his infinite wisdom, love and mercy, has called from labor our beloved and worthy brother W.B. Connaway, of whom we note as follows:
He was born in middle Tennessee, Dec. 15th, 1835, and died at his home in Burnet County Feb. 15, 1913.
When about 20 years of age he professed religion and joined the Methodist Church. He was very active in church work until two or three years before his death. On Feb. 14th 1862 he was married to Miss Malinda Hoover, who now survives him and mourns his death. To this union there was born nine children, six boys and three girls, all are living and are in the church but one boy and one girl.
Bro. W.B. Connaway was at the time of his death, and had been since Feb. 12, 1876, a worthy master mason, and in good standing in this lodge, and whereas Brother Connaway possessed in the highest degree those noble qualities of mind and heart which made him true to God, his family and his fellow man. A heart which prompted him to words and deeds of kindness, sympathy and love; thereby making him a loving husband, a kind father and a true and loyal mason in letter and spirit, beloved by all who knew him.
Therefore be it resolved:
(1st) That we deeply deplore the loss of our dear deceased brother, that in token of our grief we wear the usual badge of mourning for thirty days, and that we seek to honor his name by discharging in the best possible manner every obligation of our beloved order;
(2nd) That this lodge as an organization and with each member of the lodge personally hereby extends to the bereaved widow and her nine children in their sorrow our deepest sympathy and assures them of our interest and love fraternally.
Resolved:
(3rd) That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of this lodge; a copy sent to the bereaved family and a copy furnished to each of the following papers for publication: The Florence Vidette; Georgetown Commercial and the Burnet Bulletin.
