Notes for Minerva Jane Clark Estes:1870 Federal Census shows Minerva Estes at 43 in Naruna, living with 5 children, James, 19; Eliza, 16; Thomas, 13; Josephine,11; and Victoria, 9.

1880 Federal Census shows Minerva J. Estes at 52 in precinct 4 of Burnet County, Texas She is listed as widowed. A Daughter, Josephine L, age 20, is living with her. On the neighboring property, a black couple, Serois, 27 and Caroline, 17 and mulatto, Estes were listed. His birthplace was Texas, hers was Mississippi. His occupation was farmer, hers was housekeeper.

According to Deed Record Vol. 37, pg. 12 of Burnet Cty Clerk, Minerva Jane Estes sold her 58.1587 acres of land in Naruna to her married daughter Eunice Angela Allard January 17, 1901 in consideration of "taken care of me through all of my sickness..." Deed also mentions location in survey and bordering land is Warren Allard. Noted that "M.J.Estes - her mark". This land was subsequently sold in 1904, along with 160 acres of the Warren Allard property for $1200 to Lon Brown. $200 down and 5 installments of $200 due with 10% interest in January of each subsequent year, beginning in 1906 through 1910. (The Brown family seems to be closely allied with the Estes family - Eliza Indiana Estes married Alphonso Brown and they lived in Burnet Cty. Also Louisa Josephine Estes' second husband was Herbert Brown and they lived in either Lampasas or Burnet Cty.)
