Photo about 1868

Rachel Frances Hoover was a sister to Isaac Hoover's wife, Anna, and they all stayed at or near, Ft. Croghan when they came to Burnet County in 1853.

They all later settled at what is called Hoover's Valley.

Maston and some of his family left there in the mid-1860s and eventually settled in Bell County where he died in 1872.  After he died, Rachel went back to Tennessee to visit her folks and died while she was there.

Two of the daughters married while they were in Burnet County and lived there with their families and one of their sons fell from a horse and was killed.  The exact date of his death, or place of burial, is not known but it was during the time frame that they were there.  Possibly he is buried in the Hoover Valley cemetery in an unmarked gravesite.  No one knows.
