Our Heavenly Father called Preston home suddenly on
Friday, December 29, 2006. He is now with his Lord,
his father and mother, eight older siblings and first-
born daughter Catherine Bachus.
Preston was born on August
4, l921 at Spicewood, Texas to
Charles and Celie McInnish Krause. In l941 he married
Leta Smith and they celebrated their 65th wedding
anniversary in November. He farmed, ranched, hunted
and fished. He was the owner of Krause Korner at
Spicewood for four years and then went into the dairy
business at Buda, Texas for several years.
After moving to Austin, Texas, he owned Krause Motors
for over 46 years, retiring at age 83. Known as PK, he
was highly regarded for his honesty and integrity in
business dealings and his love for hunting and
fishing.
He is survived by his wife Leta, son-in-law James
Bachus son Gary and wife Gail; daughter Jane and
husband Otto Hallgren; seven grandchildren; three
great grandchildren; brother Vernon and wife Dorothy
of Corpus Christi and many close relatives.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday,
January 2 from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m.
at Harrell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at
1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Graveside
services will be held at 3:00
p.m. Wednesday
at Haynie Flat Cemetery in Spicewood with Reverend Ron
Hicks, retired Baptist minister and long-time friend,
officiating.
