Mary (Conner) Reed was the daughter of James
Conner and Elizabeth (Norcross) Conner.
She married Samuel Newton Reed on 8 Aug 1867 in
Rockbridge Co. VA. The young family came to Texas in 1872
with three young sons.
According to family stories, she smoked a corn cob pipe as
an adult. Mary lived near Bertram until her death in 1923.
