Mrs. J. R. Yett, Ralph and Herbert Faubion are spending today in Austin.

R. L. and Norton Lacy made a business trip to Concho county this week.

O. B. Zimmerman and V A. Ramsower were business visitors from Burnet today.

Herbert Tate and family and a party of friends pitched camp at Honeymoon this week.

Arnim Quebedaux and family were the guests of Morton Burnam one night last week.

Rev. L. D. Hornburg and family are spending the weekend in Austin with friends and relatives.

Virgil Russell and Carl Faubion and two sons were business visitors from Spicewood yesterday.

J. F. Lacy was here from Miles on business a part of the week.  John is in charge of the Miles National Bank.


Hog Lost--Marked cropped both ears, will weigh about 145 pounds, barrow.  Dock McClary.
Mrs. George LaForge was here this week from Breckenridge to visit Mr. and Mrs. Grover Phinney.


We have a few iron barrels for sle at $3.00.  Fine for water or hog killing--will last a lifetime.  --Michel and Mezger.
Will Wall and son Bradley of Spicewood were in today to sell some cotton.  They were pleasant visitors at this office.

Several bales of new cotton have been sold here this week.  The dry, hot weather will soon open all the matured bolls.

Warren Gordon and Claud Wimberly of Houston are visiting at Granite Mountain, guests of Herbert and Steinmetz Darrah.

Claud and Gid Hubbard both came from the border in Southwest Texas to attend the funeral of their mother here yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. E. H. Odiorne sold her ranch some time ago to Oscar Foss.  She is moving to Austin today where she will open a rooming house.

Geo. Fry and wife of Pleasant Valley expect to go to Austin the last of the week to visit their son, who is in a sanitarium for treatment.

Misses Inez and Velma Faubion of Spicewood are spending the weekend in town with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Faubion.

The pecan crop in this section is almost a complete failure this year.  A few thousand pounds compared to a few carloads last season is the difference in the crop this year and last.
