Jonathan "Jack" Williams was born 01 JAN 1826 in Orange County,
Indiana;
he died on01 MAR 1890 in Burnet County, Texas
He married Narcissus Axley (23 OCT 1826
- 03 FEB 1899)
of Dyer County, Tennesee, in Yell,
Arkansas on 18 JAN 1849
In 1863, Jack and his wife (and their first six children)
moved from Arkansas to settle in the area still known as
Williams Hollow, south of the Lampasas River between Oakalla
and Maxdale. Three of their sons married three daughters of
William and Harriet Reavis, another prominent local family.
They are are buried in the Mahomet Cemetery between Bertram
and Florence.
Their children were: Elizabeth Williams 1849 – 1856
Mary Williams 1852 – 1884 Thomas Jefferson Williams 1854 – 1906 William W. Williams 1856 – 1943 Susan Tabitha Williams 1859 – 1918 James David Williams 1861 – 1948 Joseph Williams 1864 – 1932 Jonathan "Babe" Williams 1867 – 1956 see also photo and info on Archie Dee Williams, son of Johnathan "Babe" Williams (Jack's son Joe Williams was well-known throughout Burnet County as a photographer in the late 1800s – early 1900s, and is responsible for many if not most of the family portraits and local pictures taken at the time).
