My gg grandfather, JOHN MARTIN BLANTON, and his brother, J.E. BLANTON, enlisted in the Civil War in 1862 from Cass County, TX. They served in Company E, Gould's Regiment, of the 23rd Texas Cavalry until the close of the war.
