Staff Sergeant Price Thomas -- distinguished himself by meritorious service while assigned to the Electro-Environmental Section, 5th Organizational Maintenance Squadron and 906th Air Refueling Squadron, 43rd Operations Group, 43rd Air Refueling Wing, Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, from 2 October 1987 to 15 October 1992. Sergeant Thomas' superior professional skill, technical knowledge, and leadership aided immensely in the accomplishment of the 5th Wing's mission. His outstanding technical skills resulted in a 100 percent pass rate for all quality assurance evaluations and his ability to impart his knowledge to subordinates earned him the Master Technician award. His professionalism stood out during the support of Operations Desert Shield and Storm where he was assigned as a shift supervisor responsible for 30 KC-135A aircraft, ensuring that all maintenance operations were completed in an outstanding manner. The distinctive accomplishment of Sergeant Thomas reflect credit upon himself and the United States Air Force. -- Citation to accompany the award of The Air Force Commendation Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster) During his first tour of duty he was stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base.
