Fisher, Thomas - Pfc. Thomas Fisher is the son of Mr. & Mrs. J.F. Fisher, Douglassville, and he attended Panhandle High. He entered the Army in 1944 and trained at Camp Pauche, La., Camp Gordon, Ga. and Camp Johnston, Fl. He served in Japan. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal.

Fisher, Ester - S/Sgt. Ester Fisher is the son of Mr. & Mrs. J.F. Fisher, Douglassville and he attended Pandlehandle High. He entered the Army in 1942 and trained at Camp Gordon, Ga. and Camp McCain, Miss. He served in England, France and Germany. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal and ETO ribbon with 5 battle stars. He was discharged in 1945.

Franklin, William E. - T/5 William e. Franklin is the son of Mrs. Evelora Pitte, Atlanta, and attended Pruitt High. He entered the army and trained in Virginia and he served in Solomans. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific, 1 bronze Star, the Good Conduct medal, Victory, 1 service stripe and 5 overseas bars. He was discharged in 1945.

Gaston, James A. - T/4 James A. Gaston is the son of Mr. & Mrs. A.G. Gaston, Marietta, and he attended Bethlehem High. He entered the Army in 1943 and trained at Sheppard Field, Tx. and Elgin Field, Fla. He served on Guadalcanal, New Guinea and the Philippines. He was awarded the ATO, APO, Good Conduct medal, and Victory ribbons. He was discharged in 1946.

Gaston, Warren G. - Cpl. Warren G. Gaston is the son of Mr. & Mrs. A.G. Gaston, Marietta and he is a graduate of Bethlehem High. He entered the Army Air Corps in 1942 and trained at Camp Butner, NC and Pollard Field, La. He served on Guadalcanal, New Hebrides and Hawaii. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal, APO and Victory ribbons. He was discharged in 1945.

Gipson, Bernard F. - Pfc. Bernard F. Gipson is the son of Mrs. Alberta Gipson, Bivins, and attended St. Helen High. He entered the Army Medical Corps in 1944 and trained at Howard University, Wash., D.C. He served in the US and was awarded the Good Conduct medal, Victory and American Theatre Ribbons. He was discharged in 1946.

Gray, Clifton T. - Pfc. Clifton T. Gray is the son of Mrs. Hallie Mae Gray, Linden, and attended Fairview High. He entered the Army in 1945 and trained at Ft. McClellan, Ala. He served in the South Pacific.

Green, Jessie D. - Pvt. Jessie D. Green is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Jessie Roberson, Atlanta, and attended Pruitt High. He entered the Army in 1941 and served in Africa and Italy. He was awarded the Victory, Good Conduct medal, Amer. Def., ATO, EAME and 4 Bronze Stars.

Hadley, Roscoe - T/5 Roscoe Hadley is the son of Mr. & Mrs. J.C. Hadley, Queen City , and attended Rosenwald High. He entered the Army in 1942 and trained at Camp Robinson, Ark. and Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. He served in France and Italy. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal and ETO ribbons with 3 battle stars. He was discharged in 1946.

Hadley, Curtis - T/5 Curtis Hadley is the son of Mr. & Mrs. J.C. Hadley, Queen City, and graduated from Rosenwald High. He entered the Army in 1942 and trained at Camp Gruber, Ok. He served in England, France, Belgium and Germany. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal and the ETO ribbon with 5 battle stars. He was discharged in 1945.

Hall, Jeff - SM 1/c Jeff Hall is the son of Mr & Mrs. A.D. Hall of Atlanta. He entered the Navy in 1942 and trained at Norfolk, Va. He served in Europe, Africa, and the Middle Eastern Theater. He was awarded 3 stars and the APO medal. He was discharged in 1946.

Hall, Conraid - STM Conraid Hall was the son of Mr. & Mrs. A.D. Hall of Atlanta. He entered the Navy in 1942 and trained at Norfolk, Va. He served in Africa, Bismark and Italy. He was awarded the Purple Heart, EAME ribbon and the Good Conduct medal. He was killed in 1943 at sea.

Hall, James P. - James P. Hall is the son of Mr. & Mrs. P.H. Johnson of Marietta. He entered the Army in 1943 and trained at Camp Wolters, Tx, Camp Livingston, La, Ft. Sill, Ok. and Camp Gruber, Ok. He served in Scotland, England, France and Germany. He was awarded the Victory robbon, The Good Conduct medal, the Amer. Theater Ribbon, the EAME ribbon and 2 Bronze Stars. He was discharged in 1946.

Hanks, Inaree Miller - Cpl. Inaree Miller is the daughter of L.M. Miller of Bivins. She entered the WAC in 1943 and trained at Ft. Des Moins, Iowa, Ft. Huachuca, Ariz, Ft. Riley Kan., Staten Island, NY and Camp Knight, Ca. She served in the US. She was awarded the ATO ribbon, the Good Conduct medal, Victory Medal and WAC ribbon. She was discharged in 1946.

Hanks, Leroy - Cpl. Leroy Hanks is the son of Mrs. Amilee Hanks of Bivins. He entered the Army Ground Forces in 1942 and trained at Camp Claiborne, La. and Camp Beauregard, La. He served in Central Europe. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal, EAME ribbon, Am. Cam. Medal and the Victory medal. He was discharged in 1946.

Harper, Claud - STM 2/c Claud Harper, son of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Harper of Atlanta and the husband of Willie Johnson of Atlanta. He entered the Navy in 1943 and trained at Bainbridge, Md. He was discharged in 1946.

Harry, Raymond - T/5 Raymond Harry is the son of Mrs. Ida Harry of Bivins and the husband of Wynell Winkley. He entered the Army in 1943 and trained in San Francisco, Ca. and Camp Ellis, Ill. He served in France and Germany. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal, the ETO ribbon, the Victory ribbon, the ATO ribbon and 2 Stars. He was discharged in 1946.

Hendricks, Samuel D. - T/5 Samuel D. Hendricks is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Leon Hendricks of Marion and the husband of Kattie Mae Jackson of Dubach La. He entered the Army in 1943 and trained at Camp Vandon, Ms. He served in Central Europe and was awarded the EAME medal with 1 Bronze Star, the Good Conduct medal, the Am. Theater medal and the Victory medal. He was discharged in 1946.

Hurst, Issac - Pvt. Isaac Hurst is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Isaac Hurst of Linden. He entered the Army in 1942 and trained at Camp Wolters, Sheppard Field, Tx. He was discharged in 1943.

James, Willie - Willie James is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Mancie James of Marietta. He entered the Army in 1943 and trained at Ft. Belvoir, Va. He was awarded the MI Rifle medal and discharged in 1944.

Johnson, Erby T. - Erby T. Johnson is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Larkin Johnson of Marietta. He entered the Army in 1942 and trained at Camp Wheeler, Ga. He served in Hawaii and was awarded the Good Conduct medal and the Pacific ribbon. He was discharged in 1945.

Johnson, Frankie - CK 3/c Frankie Johnson is the son of Mrs. Roleaver Johnson of Linden.
He entered the Navy in 1943 and trained in San Diego Ca. and served in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Enterprise, USS Turkey and USS Petroy Bay. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal, APO ribbon, Phil Lib. and 1 Bronze Star. Her was discharged in 1945.

Johnson, Howard - T/5 Howard Johnson is the son of Mrs. Essie Nard of Atlanta and the husband of Taeola Edwards of Hughes Springs. He entered the Army in 1943 and trained at Camp Swift, Tx. He served in England, France, Belgium and Germany. He was awarded 5 Service Bars, 1 Service Stripe, the EAME medal with 1 Bronze Star, the Good Conduct medal and the Victory medal. He was discharged in 1946.

Jones, Willie - Pfc. Willie Jones is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Bartlett Jones of Atlanta and the husband of Nancy B. Dawson of Atlanta. He entered the Army in 1942 and trained in San Bernadine, Ca. He was discharged in 1945.

Jones, James Clifford - pvt. James Clifford Jones is the son of Mrs. Sylvan Jones. He entered the Army in 1945 and trained at Ft. Sam Houston, Tx.

King, Leon - Sgt. Leon King is the sone of Mr. & Mrs. Dave King of Marietta and the husband of Willie D. Spence. He entered the Army in 1944 and trained at Ft. Sam Houston, Tx. He served in Japan, Germany and the Philippines. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal and the ETO ribbon with 3 Battle Stars. He was discharged in 1946.

King, La Salle - La Salle King is the son of Mr. & Mrs. John Thomas King of Marietta and the husband of Theresa Casteel. He entered the Army in 1944 and trained at Camp Lee, Va. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal and discharged in 1945.

King, Thurman - Thurman King is the son of Mr & Mrs. John Thomas King. He entered the Army and trained in the US. He served in France and Germany and was discharged in 1945.

Lavert, Alphonzo - Pfc. Alphonzo Lavert is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Robert Lavert, Sr. of Bivins and the husband of Margarett Patton. He entered the Army in 1942 and trained at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., Ft. Braggs and Camp Butner, NC.He served in the US and was awarded the Good Conduct medal and the American Theater ribbon. He was discharged in 1943.
