CLEMENTS

Charles CLEMENTS was born in NC in 1760. He married Nancy JACK in NC in 1794. Charles and Nancy had 10 children named Lovick, William, James, Mary, Adam, Charles Jr., Israel, Nancy, Jessie and Margaret. The first three children were born in South Carolina and the rest in Georgia. I have a book called "The Clements Book" by J.J. Bishop that has a fairly good history of this Clements line. Mr. Bishop believes that the parents of Charles immigrated with the Oglethorpe Colony in Georgia 1732-35.

I also have a book called "The Descendants of Charles and Nancy Clements" by Lloyd McDaniel. This book has 4927 descendants and spouses of Charles Clements and has in index for 9940 names. I will be glad to do lookups in these two books for other Clements researchers.

James CLEMENTS, third child of Charles and Nancy, left Georgia in 1841 after his first wife died, and with his six children moved to Cass Co. Texas. In 1846 he married Nancy WORNEL and they had three children before James left Cass Co. for central Texas in 1851 where seven more children were born.

Besides James CLEMENTS, his brothers Lovick and William also settled in Cass Co. before 1841. James had land where present day Queen City, Texas is located. Pages 42-45 in John Hane's "A Historys of Queen City, Texas" has more about the Clements families of Cass County, Texas.
