Cyrus and Rachel Dobbs arrived in 1839 with their children, Martha Elizabeth, Henry R., and William C. They lived in the Black Bayou Cherokee Settlement and later the Courtland Community. While in Texas the following children were born: Margaret Emily, Marion F., Matilda, C. Ransom, and S.P. The Dobbs were charter members of the Enon Primative Baptist Church joining in 1845.
