After his return to Cass Co., Tx. he became a stockholder in the Bank of Atlanta, owning a sixth interest and on Mar 20, 1888, was appointed cashier.

MR ELLINGTON was a man of fine business ability and the success of the bank is due mainly to his good management. In addition to his interest in the bank, he has large outside interests, having land and cattle in the West. Reared in Texas, he had meager educational opportunities, and is now one of the shrewdest and most successful men in the country. He served sixteen months in the Confederate armn when but a boy, thus taking a portion of the best years of his life. Genial and affable in his manner, he has gained many friends and is especially adapted for the position he now occupies.
