Hughes Springs New Era Newspaper
November 10, 1955
Dr. Louise Wilcox, physician and surgeon, and a native of Hughes Springs, has recently returned to practice locally. Her office is located on East First Street between the City Hall and Lyles Motors, and her residence is adjacent to the clinic. Accompanying Dr. Wilcox from Newton, Texas are Mr. Wilcox and her staff of Miss Nettie Fort, receptionist, bookkeeper and technician, and J.B. Forse, Jr., registered nurse.
Dr. Wilcox is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Medicine, Galveston, 1948, and interred at Hillcrest Memorial in Tulsa, Okla. in 1949; had two years of anesthesia training during 1950-1951 in Tulsa, and was a general practitioner for four and one-half years in Newton, Texas, previous to moving here.
Dr. Wilcox praised the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce in helping her locate here. The interest shown and the assistance given her by the Chamber were the deciding factors for her choice of Hughes Springs as her new home.
An open house is being arranged by Mrs. Kate Watkins to be held on Saturday afternoon between the hours of two and five.
