Henry Faver and his wife, Carolina Matilda Hunter Bonner are buried here along with children: John Randolph Faver, Mary Arnold Faver Moore, and Henry Faver Jr. a granddaughter, Caroline Matilda Moore Wommack, daughter of Mary Arnold Faver and Henry Alexander Moore. The latter is also buried there. There are also slaves buried in the cemetery. The only graves that are marked with certainty are the graves of Henry Faver and Matilda Bonner, and Carrie Wommack. My father bought the markers and placed them in about 1946. He searched the records in Linden to get some of the approximate ages. Mary Arnold Faver Moore's first husband, Thomas A. Edwards is buried in an unmarked grave behind where the old homestead was located. If you desire, I can attach and forward a picture of the Faver home. It was owned by Carrie Wommack in 1946 when it was partially destroyed by a severe windstorm. My father had it razed and used the lumber to build Auntie a smaller house. Auntie (Carrie Wommack) died November 09, 1946; Titus, Texas.

Henry Faver and Matilda Bonner were married in 1828 in LaGrange, Georgia. Henry Faver served as sheriff of the county for several terms and one term in the Georgia State Legislature. They came to Texas in 1852 and built a large antebellum style home in the J F Wheat Survey. Strangely enough, I haven't been able to locate Henry Faver in the 1850 Census. Mary Arnold Faver and husband, Thomas A Edwards are in the 1850 Troup County, Georgia census, but her father and family are not.
