JOHN BROWN

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-John H. Brown, 59, of Avinger, Texas, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, in a Longview, 
Texas, hospital.

The Rev. Brown was born Oct. 16, 1945, in Linden, Texas. He was a member of Arden-Haynes American Legion 
Post 351, a Baptist and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Brown of Avinger; three daughters, Polly Anna Samples and Pattie Juan Shellman 
of Daingerfield, Texas, and Phonda Sue Brown of Avery, Texas; his mother, Edna Irene Newsom of Linden; one sister, 
Lenora Long of Mount Pleasant, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Hocking and the Rev. Dan Hill officiating. 
Burial will be in Old Bear Creek Cemetery.
