Morris Haskell Brunette BROWNSVILLE — Morris Haskell Brunette, 67, passed away Friday, June 14, 2002, in Brownsville. He was born Nov. 25, 1934, to James Morris and Nadine Golden Brunette in Cass County, Texas. Morris was a resident of Odessa from 1949 until about 10 years ago, when he moved to Brownsville. He enjoyed playing both the guitar and harmonica and singing. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Lamb of Odessa Foursquare Gospel Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. His father, James Brunette; two sisters, Judy Beauchamp and Ernestine Burt; three nephews, Dony McDonald, Shane Brunette and Steven McDonald; and one great-nephew, Tommy Joe Scott, all preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Nadine and Max Sykes; brothers, David Brunette and wife Shirley; Charles Brunette and wife Nancy, all of Odessa; Ricky Don Brunette and wife Debbie of Broken Bow, Okla.; sisters, Glennell McDonald of Odessa and Stella Brunette of Amarillo. He is also survived by 10 nephews, Roger McDonald Jr., David C. Brunette, Jimmy Allen Jr., Kenneth Brunette, Christopher Burt, Richard Maddaision, Brandon Maddaision, Deric Brunette, Chris Brunette and Cody Brunette; six nieces, Bobbie Kay Scott, Dawne D’Shaye Lamb, Staci Brunette, Shyree Nicole Brightman, Dana Glennell Hambright and Samantha Danielle Stark; and numerous other relatives.
