Morris E. Coats 

ATLANTA — Services for Morris E. Coats, 91, of Bloomburg are set for 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2004, 
at Hanner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Lummus officiating. Interment will be in Salem 
Cemetery in Cass County. Arrangements are by Hanner Funeral Service. Mr. Coats died Friday, July 
16, 2004, in Atlanta. He was born Sept. 28, 1912, in Cass County. 

Mr. Coats was preceded in death by his son, Lewis Edward Coats. He is survived by his son, John 
Coats and his wife, Bobbie Sue, of Bloomburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Wilson and 
Homer of Longview, Marceile Qualls and Carl of Avinger and Eva McMerrill and Charles of Katy; one 
brother, John Ervin Coats of Bryan; 16 grandchildren; and a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren. 
Mr. Coats was preceded in death by one son, Lewis Edward Coats. 

Mr. Coats, who was born Dec. 12, 1912, in Cass County, was a Baptist and a member of the fraternal 
Organization of Oddfellows. The longtime member of the Carpenters Local retired from D&Z after 20 
years of service. 

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today, July 17, at the funeral home.
