William Johnson "Bill" Griffis

HUGHES SPRINGS - Services for William Johnson "Bill" Griffis, 74, of Hughes Springs, will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs, with Bros. Daniel Bramlett and Lee Mars officiating. Burial will follow in Hughes Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are by Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. Mr. Griffis died May 5, 2010, at a Longview hospital.

Born November 12, 1935, in Avinger, he worked for Lone Star Steel for 30 years, was a member of First Baptist Church and a Mason. Survivors include his wife, Carol Jones Griffis; daughter, Pamela Kaye Griffis Owen; and son, William Allan Charles Griffis. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, May 9, 2010, at the funeral home.
