HADEE HAMPTON HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Hadee "Dee" Hampton, 81, of Hughes Springs died Monday, July 26, 2004, at her home. Mrs. Hampton was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Hughes Springs. She was an employee of Hughes Springs school district and a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Hampton, on Feb. 7, 1989; and one grandson, Brian Hampton, on April 25, 1998. Survivors include six sons, Gerald Hampton and Gary Hampton of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Lynn Hampton, Kenneth Hampton and Kevin Hampton of Hughes Springs and Ronald Hampton of Winona, Texas; two daughters, Barbara Kander of Shreveport, La., and Sue Turner of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Nadine Sykes of Odessa, Texas, and Doris Mumford of Lawrence, Kan.; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Dave Hylan and Dan McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Cornett Cemetery, Naples, Texas, under direction of Reeder- Davis Funeral Home. She was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Hughes Springs. She worked in the cafeteria department of Hughes Springs ISD for 20 years and was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Hampton and one grandson, Brian Hampton. She is survived by six sons and five daughters-in-law: Gerald and Yvonne Hampton of Mount Pleasant, Gary and Charlotte Hampton of Mount Pleasant, Lynn and Bonnie Hampton of Hughes Springs, Ronald and Lynda Hampton of Winona, Kenneth and Mona Hampton of Hughes Springs and Kevin Hampton, also of Hughes Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Stewart Kander of Shreveport and Sue and Rocky Turner of Fort Worth; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nadine and Mac Sykes of Odessa and Doris and Eddie Mumford of Lawrence, Kan.; 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
