HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Jennie V. Mayfield, 90, of Jefferson, Texas, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, in 
a Linden, Texas, hospital.

Mrs. Mayfield was born June 13, 1914, in Marion County, Texas. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her son, J.C. Smith of Avinger, Texas; seven grandchildren, James Smith of Avinger, Helen 
Vance of Lewisville, Texas, James A. Smith and Rowland Smith of Texarkana and Barbara Gipson, Bertha 
Ewing and Robin Smith of Dallas; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one 
great-great-great-grandson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. George Hartfield officiating. 
Burial will be in Pyland Cemetery, Avinger.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
