J.D. McDANIEL

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-J.D. McDaniel, 84, of Hughes Springs died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, 
in a Longview, Texas, hospital.

Mr. McDaniel was born Aug. 29, 1919, in Morris County, Texas. He was retired from T&N, Lone Star, 
Texas, a member of American Legion and a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn McDaniel of Hughes Springs; two sons, James D. McDaniel Jr. of 
Jenkins, Texas, and Carol Gene McDaniel of White Oak, Texas; one daughter, Connie Holliday of 
Hughes Springs; four sisters, Trannie Black of Liberty City, Texas, Ruby Black of Hughes Springs and 
Ada Doss and Mary Phillips of Daingerfield, Texas; one sister-in-law, Janice Calloway of Hughes 
Springs; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ricky Vestal 
and Larry Neeley officiating. Burial will be in Hughes Springs Cemetery.
