ARTHUR MIMS SR.

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Arthur Lee Mims Sr., 86, of Daingerfield, Texas, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, 
in a Mount Pleasant, Texas, hospital.

Mr. Mims was born Nov. 9, 1917, in Morris County, Texas. He was a carpentry laborer and a World War II 
Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Mims; and two sons, Arthur Lee Jr. and James 
Edward Mims.

Survivors include one sister, Jeanette Mims of Daingerfield; five grandchildren, Ardie Rodgers of Dell City, 
Okla., Torres Mott of Lufkin, Texas, Anthony Cates of Little Rock, Jerry Mims of Hawkins, Texas, and Shanta 
Barber of Rowlett, Texas; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Daingerfield, with A.W. Lawton officiating. 
Burial will be in Whitmore Cemetery under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.
