CUBELL SMITH 

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Cubell Smith, 77, of Marietta, Texas, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, 
in Texarkana, Texas. 

Mrs. Smith was born May 26, 1926, in Marietta. She worked in housekeeping in the medical 
industry and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. 

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Chism of Hughes Springs and Edward Wayne Chism of 
Linden, Texas; three daughters, Ruthy Sellers and Joyce Davis of Dallas and Rose Kay Betts 
of Hughes Springs; three brothers, Esworth King of Los Angeles, Reva W. King of Marietta 
and Jackie King of Texarkana; six sisters, Otha Faye Lee of Los Angeles, Eva Wilson of 
Houston, Osceola Grant of Tyler, Carolyn Andrews and Shirley Bracken of Dallas and Lois 
Sparks of Texarkana; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. 

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. T.L. Strong 
officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
