ELVIS WATKINS

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas-Elvis Watkins, 80, of Hughes Springs died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, 
in a Linden, Texas, hospital.

Mr. Watkins was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Cass County, Texas. He was retired from Lone Star Steel. 
His first wife, Mary Christine Watkins, and one son, Tony Watkins, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Eloise Watkins of Hughes Springs; three sons and daughters-in-law, 
Tommy and Regina Watkins and Lewis and Nelda Watkins of Hughes Springs and Roger and 
Twala Watkins of Ore City, Texas; one daughter, Shirley Young of Longview, Texas; two sisters, 
Caroleen Penny of Arlington, Texas, and Nancy Hood of Topsville, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; and 
12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Rickey Vestal 
and Larry Neeley officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery under direction of Reeder-Davis 
Funeral Home.
