DEATHS
WILSON----W.T. Wilson, for
many years a resident in the county near Bellevue, died at his
home in Bowie on last Friday morning at an advanced age. Funeral
ceremonies were conducted by Dr. Pierce, pastor of the Baptist
Church at Bowie, but burial was in the cemetery at Bellevue Saturday
morning. Mr. Wilson was a pioneer settler of Clay County and
his daughter, Miss Annie was at one time a teacher in the school
at Henrietta.
He was born in Gibson County,
TN Feb. 4, 1851 and came to Bellevue, Clay County in early 1880's
and farmed there. He married Willie Tennessee Vance in
1878 in Gainesville, Texas. Mrs. Wilson passed away August
23, 1920.
He is survived by two daughters;
Miss Annie Wilson of Bowie and Miss Stella Wilson also of Bowie,
and one son, Earl Hooper Wilson of Vernon, Texas, 3 grandchildren;
Harold Vance Wilson, Bill Wilson and Maurice Wilson all of Vernon,
Texas.
