"JAMES B. THOMPSON BURIAL PLOT"

Map Page 14 is a rather unique area as it was donated by Elenita T. Kirkpatrick on October 27, 1921, "... in commemoration of the love and affection for her deceased father and the plot of land shall be known as the "James B. Thompson Burial Plot," and shall be used only as a place for interment for deceased soldiers, sailors and marines of the world war and their families ... land belonging unto the said Ray Post of the American Leagion of Coleman ..."  (Coleman County Clerk's Office, Deed Book 126, page 89.)  The plot was trianglular in shape as the west side ran along the Comanche Road (as did Map Page 13, originally) and contained 2500 square feet.  The numbering system used is an extention of part of map pages 5, 6, and 11 and makes little sense as one section number is missing (46) and the in-between (alley) lots have not been assigned numbers.  It joins Map Pages 15 and 16 on the south.  It is spread over three blocks of land (with a road between each), each being longer than the previous, due to the triangular shape, with the east most block being the shortest.  Reading began in the northwest block (on all three blocks reading began on the north side); lot numbers will not be indicated due to the confusing system and small size of the map page.
