FIVEASH CEMETERY, COLEMAN COUNTY, TEXAS

Additions and corrections to information found in Coleman County Cemetery Inscriptions, 1988 are shown in red.

The Fiveash Cemetery is about three miles southwest of Trickham, on a dirt county road.  The cemetery began with the deaths of Enoch and Lucinda Fiveash (see the Lot Ellington grave for more information).  The cemetery was said to have been located in the corner of Fiveash land.  However, there was a deed filed (Coleman County Deeds, Vol, 56, page 112) March 25, 1904 out of the Brook and Burleson Survey #1 for 36/100 acres for the cemetery from J. E. Featherston to John Fiveash.

The cemetery is fenced, but is not kept up.  Reading was done by rows in a snake like fashion.  Due to the smallpox deaths of Enoch and Lucinda Fiveash, they were not buried side by side, by some distance apart.  Reading was begun in the northeast corner, near the entrance gate.
