Mrs. Roy (Eleanor) Tomlinson, 61, of Lowake, former Coleman County resident, died Monday, July 24, 1978 at 6:05 p.m. at St. John’s Hospital, San Angelo. Funeral services are pending at Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman. Burial will be in Silver Valley Cemetery. Born December 19, 1916 in Winters, she was the daughter of Elbert and Viva Gillaspy Gipson. She graduated from Coleman High School and attended Mary Hardin Baylor College and Sul Ross State Teachers College. She married Roy Tomlinson on June 6, 1936 in Coleman, and they farmed in the Novice area. For the past 4 years, the Tomlinsons have owned and operated Lowake Steak House. She was a member of College Hills Baptist Church in San Angelo. She is survived by her husband, Roy; three sons, Bill Tomlinson of San Angelo, Bob Tomlinson of Davidsonville, Virginia, and Phil Tomlinson of Lowake; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Simonton of Mineral Wells, and Mrs. Geraldine Wiles of Red Springs; two brothers, Walter Gipson of St. Julian’s, Malta, and Cotton Gipson of Farmington, New Mexico; and three grandchildren.
