"I worked in Abilene, Texas, then to Sonora, Texas.  In May 1948, I married Max H. Horne.  We have 3 children ... all born and raised here in Coleman ... Mitzi, Kit, Scott.  In 1967 worked as Librarian in Jr. High for C. I. S. D.  In 1976 started work with Department of Public Safety here in Coleman.  Transferred to DPS Brownwood office in 1983.  Commuted for 10 years there.  Retired in 1993 from DPS.  Still live in same house we built west of town in 1950.  We have 4 grandchildren: Mitzi has a boy, Chad and a girl, Jenny; Kit has a boy, Adam and a girl, Tova ... the oldest is 24 years old and youngest 11 years."  (2002.)
