"I graduated from Southwest Texas in San Marcos in May 1967, and married Rolland Bek in August.  We lived in New Braunfels for five years.  Our daughter Delaine was born in 1969, and our son Brennan was born in 1970.  I began teaching in September 1967, at Randolph Air Force Base, then continued after children the Judson ISD until we moved to Lubbock in 1972. We moved every 3 to 5 years with Rolland's job, hitting Canyon, Plainview, Belton, and ending in San Antonio for a ten-year stint.  We built a house in New Braunfels in 1997 to retire, which Rolland did in 1998.  I retired (after 28 years) in January 2003, just five days before our first grandchild, Lily Marie Bek, was born.  Our second grandchild, Aiden Stephen Ulmer, was born on February 4, 2004, which just happens to be Rolland's and my brother Joe's birthday!  Lily Marie's brother will be born in June.  So I stay busy doing grandmotherly things!  For entertainment, I did the "work-one-day-in-a-district-with-Social-Security" in COLEMAN ISD.  Now that was fun!  My, my, how Coleman has changed..."    (February 2004)
