We don’t understand how enough time had passed to have a 35th anniversary of our high school graduation. The time does fly!  Patricia (Conway) Berry, Sandra (Lanham) Burns, Janice (Kile) Merrill, Susan (Kemper) Schuppenhauer, Anthony Strawn and Ralph Terry organized a get-together and met on Rodeo weekend, Saturday, July 1, 2000.

We kept the reunion as simple and inexpensive as possible, and had many in attendance for this once in a lifetime event. The Class of ‘65 joined together for a noon meal at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Mission Hall, at 613 S. Neches Street in Coleman, with the Bar-B-Que meal being catered by Big O’s of Valera.

Registration began at 10:00 a. m., with the meal about 12:00 noon.  Following the meal, a group photograph was taken (see the results below).  A few showed up after the group picture was taken.  We then had a class meeting, talks and visiting, which last from about 1:00 to 3: p. m.  We had displays of our old classmates, school pictures, and other memorabilia of interest to the Class of ‘65.

We tied the reunion in with the Rodeo again, so about 3:00 p. m., we began work on our float for the Rodeo Parade.  Nothing original, but a large trailor with with a lot of exes.  The parade started at 5:00, and everyone on our float had a ball!  That really worn us out, so most rested after the parade and many went to the Rodeo about 8:00, followed by the dance.  A few returned to the church mission hall and visited some more, until all hours of the night, with music from the "old days" and snacks that lasted longer than the people.
