Something About Me
.....
"I live in Alexandria, Virginia, just outside Washington, DC with my husband, Jim, and two sons Allen (born 1991) and Stephen (born 1995). For all intents and purposes I'm still a "policy wonk" after completing a BA in History from TCU and MPA from the University of Texas (LBJ School). Currently I'm a security and safety consultant to the Department of Homeland Security and private sector clients - primarily in the chemical, petrochemical, and petroleum sectors. Before joining AcuTech in April 2006 I had spent 19 years with the American Chemistry Council first as an environmental policy analysis and, since 9/11, as the industry's Senior Director for Security and Facility Operations. From my office I watched the plane crash into the Pentagon, so it gives me great satisfaction to work on helping to improve chemical infrastructure security. "My husband, Jim, is a research engineer at the US Naval Research Lab where he manages a program to develop micro air vehicles -- basically, the small autonomous airplanes used for reconnaissance and surveillance -- which is very cool. Jim refers to is job as "your tax dollars at play," but actually he takes the work very seriously and hopes to continue to help our troops answer the question, "what's over that hill" without having to send in a person. "If any members of the class of 1975 -- or folk from other classes who know me -- are ever in Washington, do give me a call. Washington is really a great city -- truly each American should visit your . The "Hotel Kellogg" is open." (August 2006.) |
