Ricka .....
While at Coleman High School, Ricka did well in CHS Basketball, and was named to the Abilene Reporter-News All-Big Country Class 3A First Team, Girls Basketball. She also did well in discus, placing seventh at the state track meet, tossing it 121 feet, 2 inches.
She played for Howard County Junior College (Big Spring) in her freshman year (1998). "Ricka McKee, the former Coleman High School basketball-track standout now a freshman at Howard College, recently was named honorable mention all-Western Junior College Athletic Conference. The Lady Hawks won the Region V tournament and will compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association women's tournament in Salina, Kansas, facing Walters State Junior College from Tennessee in the opening round at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Ricka started every game this year and averaged 7.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 3.1 steals. She also made 23 of 65 3-point baskets." (Abilene Reporter News, Abilene, Texas, March 15, 1998.)
Ricka played basketball at Emporia State University (Kansas), who won the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association championship (28-1, 17-1) and was on the MAIAA's Women's Basketball Second Team in her senior year at Emporia State University.
