Bluecats Take Olney Cubs to

Thursday night in Breckenridge, the Coleman
Bluecats scored 28 points to Olney's 0 and won their first game of the season.
The Bluecats took the opening kickoff and during their first possession moved down the field to Olney's
17 yard line with 8:18 left in the first quarter. Able to move only 6 yards
after 4 attempts, the Bluecats handed the Cubs possession of the ball on their
own 11 yard line.
Olney's first possession resulted in a punt after
one series of downs and the Bluecats took the ball on their own 3 yard line.
Coleman started this series with 2:09 left in 1st Quarter. After a total gain of
8 yards by Kahlam Salazar and Glen Edington, and on a 3rd an 2, Colton Buzzard
carried the ball 89 yards to the end zone; however, a personal foul near the 25
yard line brought the Cats back to the 34 yard line. After Salazar gained 11
yards, it was another 1st down. After a 1 yard loss on the next play, the 1st
quarter ended with the score 0-0. The 2nd quarter started with a 2nd and 11.
Edington got 1 yard, making it 3rd and 10. Colton Buzzard then passed to
Dalton DeLeon for a touchdown with 11:16 left in
2nd quarter. Jonathan Sanchez kicked the PAT bringing the score to Bluecats 7 - Olney 0.
Olney received the kick-off
with a fair catch on their own 24 yard line. After 2 - 1st down series, the Cubs
punted and the Cats allowed the punt to roll to Olney's 43 yard line to start
their next possession. After being unable to gain a 1st down, Coleman was forced
to punt and Olney started their series on their own 25 yard line. After a tackle
by Agbor, Cole, and Walker, Olney was unable to move more than 1 yard and punted
to Coleman with 7:12 left in the 2nd quarter.
The Cats took over on
their own 40 yard line. A pass from Buzzard to DeLeon was complete to Olney's
44, but a penalty on the play brought it back for a 1st and 15 on the 35 yard
line. On the 3rd down, a defensive interference call against Olney with a 15 yard
penalty gave Coleman a 1st and 10 from Olney's 45 yard line. On the next 4th
down, the long snap to Buzzard got away and he covered it giving the Cats a 4th
and 17 with 3:32 left in the first half. The punt was caught for a fair catch on
the 8 yard line. After Sanchez and Edington got a tackle keeping Olney to a
short 2 yard gain, Agbor and C. Barrios sacked the quarterback giving them 4th
and 18 on their own 1 yard line. Jamal Agbor then blocked the punt in the end zone and it was covered by the Cats for a
touchdown. The PAT fake for a run was not
converted so the score was 13-0 with 1:39 left in the first half. Olney received
the kickoff and got to their own 40 yard line, but was not able to score as the
half ended 13-0.

To start the 3rd quarter, Olney received the
kickoff giving them a 1st and 10 on their own 33 yard line. They were able to
get a 1st down moving to Coleman's 44 yard line. Edington sacked the quarterback
for a 15 yard loss giving them 2nd and 25. However, they were able to pass and
run for another 1st down to Coleman's 32 yard line. After another penalty
against Olney, and a 2nd and 20, they were unable to get a first down and they
turned the ball over on downs to the Cats with 7:09 left in the 3rd quarter. The
Bluecats started this series on their own 29 yard line. Edington gained 5 yards,
Salazar, 7 giving Coleman a 1st down on the 41. Salazar gained 1 and DeLeon
received a pass from Buzzard giving the Cats another 1st down on Olney's 43 yard
line. Edington then ran for 8 yards and Buzzard then kept the ball to get to the
Olney 23 yard line. On 3rd down, Buzzard ran the ball in for a
touchdown from the 16 yard line. The extra
point conversion was good with a Buzzard pass to Dalton DeLeon, giving Coleman a 21-0 lead with 3:08 left in 3rd
quarter.
Olney fumbled the ensuing kick-off but regained possession
on their own 24 yard line. With a 4th and 14 from own 20 and 2:01
in the 3rd quarter they punted and Edington returned it from the 50 yard line to
Olney's 29 yard line. On the 1st and 10, DeLeon was in the end zone for pass and
defensive interference was called. The ball was placed on the 13 yard line. A
pass to DeLeon was incomplete bringing 2nd and 10. Edington then ran for 11yds
giving the Cats 1st and goal on the 2. Edington tried for the end zone again,
but fumbled. Coleman maintained possession of the ball. After no gain on the 2nd
down, and with 3rd down and 1 yard to go for a touchdown, the 3rd quarter ended.
Colton Buzzard started the 4th quarter off with a run in from the
1 yard line for a touchdown, PAT from Sanchez was good giving Coleman a 28-0 score with 11:55 left in the
game.
Buzzard kicked to Olney who returned to Coleman's 46 yard line.
Olney was again unable to get a first down, and after a punt, Coleman started
their next series with 9:40 left in the game.
An option from Buzzard to
Edington gained 8 yards, but a penalty put Coleman back to the 16 yard line.
With 2nd and 16, Agbor caught a Buzzard pass for 17yards bringing a 3rd and 4.
Buzzard ran a keeper for a 1st and 10 on the 48 yard line. A pass from Buzzard
to DeLeon was complete, but a fumble by DeLeon was recovered by Olney giving
them possession again with 6:52 left in the game. Olney did get one 1st down and
moved to the 28 yard line, but on 4th and 4 they received a holding penalty
giving them 4th and 14. They were unable to convert for a 1st down, so Coleman
took possession with 3:49 left in the game.
This Coleman possession ended
with a fumble recovery by Olney on Coleman's own 44 yard line. A 20 yard gain
gave them a 1st down on the 24 yard line. The quarterback was sacked for a loss
of 6 yards, but with only a 12 yard gain in 2 downs, and on 4th and 4, Olney
failed to get a 1st down and Coleman took over possession with 6 seconds left in
the game. The game ended with the score 28-0, Bluecats on top!
