Lewis L. Naylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Naylor, was inducted into
Army Air Corps Oct. 7, 1942; trained at Kelly Field. Stinson Field and
Duncan Field; served with 49th Supply Squadron; discharged Sept. 9, 1943;
held rank of staff sergeant.

NEEDHAM, EARLIE B.
Earlie B. Needham, son of Mrs. Andrew J. Needham, entered service Sept.
15, 1942; trained in Georgia, Florida and Arkansas; attached to US Public
Health Service; served with Malaria Fever Control Unit; ranks as captain;
stationed at El Paso as an International Sanitary Engineer.

NELSON, GRADY LEE, JR.
Grady Lee Nelson, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Nelson, was inducted
into the Navy in 1941; trained at San Diego, Calif.; left for Pacific in
July, 1941; served aboard USS Grant, USS Arizona and USS Strong; all his
ships were sunk while he was aboard; is now in China as gunner first class.

NEWSOM, WILLIAM TAYLOR
William Taylor Newsom, son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Robey, was inducted
into the Navy Oct. 20, 1942; trained at Tulane Medical School, New Orleans,
La.; now located at Veterans’ Hospital at Alexandria, La.; ranks as lieutenant
(jg).

NIXON, CARL A.
Carl A. Nixon, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Nixon, was inducted into Navy
July 5, 1944; trained at San Diego, Calif.; left for Pacific Dec. 29, 1944;
fought at Iwo Jima and Okinawa; served 16 months overseas with 58th Task
Force; discharged June 1, 1946; ranked as fireman first class.

NIXON, HAROLD DEAN
Harold Dean Nixon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nixon, entered Navy Dec.
22, 1944; trained at Great Lakes, Ill.; left for Pacific March 28, 1945;
served 15 months overseas; awarded Presidential Citation with one battle
star; served on USS Lexington attached to Third Fleet; discharged July
8, 1946.

NIXON, JOE T.
Joe T. Nixon, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Nixon, was inducted into Army
Air Corps Feb. 4, 1944; left for ETO Nov. 13, 1944; participated in five
major battles; served seven months overseas; awarded Air Medal with two
oak leaf clusters; discharged in November, 1945, as staff sergeant.

NORRIS, GIRVIN W.
Girvin W. Norris, son of L. G. Norris, was inducted into the Army in
July, 1942; trained at New Orleans, La., Boca Raton, Fla., and Chanute
Field, Ill.; left for Far Eastern Theater in May, 1945; served ten months
overseas; awarded three battle stars; held rank of sergeant.

NORRIS, HOWARD W.
Howard W. Norris, son of H. O. Norris of Santa Anna, entered the Army
in March, 1943; trained at Camp Swift; left for ETO on Sept. 12, 1944;
served 21 months overseas; was awarded Bronze Star and Purple Heart; held
the rank of captain.
