in New Guinea June 19, 1944.

Armored Division; awarded Purple Heart posthumously.

discharged Nov. 23, 1945.

gunner s mate, second class; discharged Feb. 4, 1946.

mate second class when discharged.

Frank Hall Poole, son of Mrs. Ruby Poole, entered the Navy April 29,
1944; left for the Pacific in November, 1944; fought at Iwo Jima and Philippines;
served 15 months overseas aboard the Winged Arrow; discharged Feb. 2, 1946,
while holding the rank of radioman third class.

Albert J. Pope, son of Mrs. J. G. Pope of Coleman, was inducted into
the Navy on Aug. 17, 1943; received initial training in Virginia and advanced
training in California; sailed for the Pacific in June, 1944; served 18
months overseas holds the rank of warrant officer.

John Oliver Powe, son of Mrs. Mary Powe, entered the Army Oct. 17,
1942; trained at Fort Lewis, Wash., and in California; sent to Pacific
July 3, 1943, for 21 months’ service; fought on Luzon, Morotai; awarded
Medal of Honor, Purple Heart; holds the rank of private first class.

Aircraft Service Unit (F) 35, discharged as petty officer second class.

Mary Ella Pridemore enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps in April. 1942;
received extensive training at Camp Barkeley, Texas, and at Aloe Flying
Field, Victoria, Texas; held the rank of first lieutenant when honorably
discharged from the service in October, 1944.
