James T. Padgitt, son of Mrs. J. Tom Padgitt, entered the Army Nov. 20, 1940; sent to ETO April 1, 1943; fought at Salerno; 12 months overseas; attached to 36th Division; awarded Purple Heart; held the rank of lieutenant colonel; discharged on Nov. 1, 1944.
 
PAIGE, WALTER DAVID
Walter David Paige, son of W. F. Paige, was inducted into Navy March 3, 1943; trained at San Diego and Shoemaker, Calif.; left for Pacific on Nov. 3, 1943; spent 29 months overseas on USS Ibex, Third Fleet; discharged June 6, 1946; held the rank of storekeeper, first class.
 
PARISH, EDWARD ROYCE
Edward Royce Parish, son of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Parish, entered Army Air Forces Aug. 7, 1943; left for Pacific July 4, 1944; participated in air offensive against Japan; served 21 months overseas with 73rd Bombardment Group; discharged March 8, 1946, while holding rank of sergeant.
 
PARISH, JOHN ALLEN
John Allen Parish, son of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Parish, entered Army Aug. 28, 1944; sailed for Pacific area March 1, 1945; participated in Ryukyus campaign; served 18 months overseas with 307th Infantry; awarded one Presidential Citation; discharged Aug. 31, 1946, as private, first class.

Clifford Dueard Parker, son of Mrs. Winnie Parker, entered Navy May 13, 1944; trained at San Diego, Calif., and Seattle, Wash.; left for Pacific Nov. 25, 1944; fought on Iwo Jima; served 18 months overseas with Third Fleet; served aboard USS Napa, APA 157; discharged as seaman, first class.
 
PARKER, JACK A.
Jack A. Parker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Parker, entered the Navy July 11, 1945; received training at San Diego, Calif.; sent to Pacific in October, 1945 for eight months’ service; served aboard the USS San Saba; held the rank of seaman, first class; discharged.
 
PARKER, JOYCE NADINE
Joyce Nadine Parker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Parker, entered the Naval Nurse Corps Sept. 21, 1943; trained at US Naval Hospital, San Diego, Calif.; left for Pacific July 16, 1945; served eight months overseas; attached to US Naval Hospital, No. 10; discharged March 11, 1946; ranked as lieutenant (jg).

Ralph Granville Parker, son of Mrs. Winnie Parker, entered Navy April 29, 1944; trained at San Diego, Calif., Camp Elliott and Oceanside, Calif.; was discharged from service Sept. 9, 1944; held the rank of seaman, second class.
 
PARKER, MAX WAYNE
Max Wayne Parker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Parker, entered Navy Feb. 27, 1944; left for Pacific area March 15, 1945; fought in Philippines; served 13 months overseas with Seventh Fleet; was discharged from service May 15, 1946; ranked as seaman, first class.
 
PARSONS, BENNIE BYRON
Bennie Byron Parsons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Parson, entered the Naval Air Corps June 14, 1943; sailed overseas Feb. 8, 1944; fought at Leyte, Guam, Iwo Jima, Wake, Mindora, Okinawa, Formosa, Saipan, on USS Belleau Wood; holds rank of aviation bos’n’s mate, second class; now at San Diego.
 
PARSONS, NEWELL B.
Newell B. Parsons, son of Frank A. Parsons, was inducted into the Army March 30, 1943; sent to ETO Sept. 21, 1943 for 27 months’ service; served in North Africa and Italy; was attached to 2602nd Depot; held rank of sergeant; discharged Dec. 11, 1945.
 
PARSONS, NORRELL W.
Norrell W. Parsons, son of Frank A. Parsons, entered the Army May 15, 1942; sent to ETO Feb. 8, 1943 for 32 months’ service; fought in Pa Valley, North Apennines, Rome-Arno, Naples-Foggia, and Sicily; was attached to 39th Combat Engineers; was corporal; discharged.
 
PATTON, G. H., JR.
G. H. Patton, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Patton, Sr., entered the Navy May 13, 1942; sailed to Pacific April 2, 1943 for 22 months’ service; awarded Good Conduct Medal; held the rank of aviation machinist’s mate, first class, when discharged Dec. 8, 1945.
 
PEARCE, JESS ROBERT, JR.
Jess Robert Pearce, Jr., son of Jess R. Pearce, Sr., entered the United States Marines Sept. 26, 1942; trained at San Diego, Calif.; sent to Pacific May 12, 1943 for 32 months’ service; held the rank of pharmacist’s mate, second class; discharged.
 
PENNINGTON, ELVIN L.
Elvin L. Pennington, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Pennington, entered Army Feb. 18, 1943; left for Pacific in May 1944; fought at New Guinea; served with 11th Airborne Group, 221st Medical Division; killed in action in New Guinea June 19, 1944.
 
PENNINGTON, JESSIE L.
Jessie L. Pennington, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Pennington, entered Army May 31, 1944; left for Pacific Dec. 22, 1944; fought on Leyte, Samar, and Okinawa; served seven months overseas with 96th Division; awarded Purple Heart and three battle stars; discharged in December, 1945, as private, first class.
 
PFLUGER, WOODROW W.
Woodrow W. Pfluger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pfluger, entered the Army Feb 8, 1942; sent to ETO Dec. 11, 1942; served in North Africa; fought in Sicily where he was killed in action Aug. 8, 1943; was attached to Second Armored Division; awarded Purple Heart posthumously.
 
PHARISS, PRICE
Price Phariss, son of Mrs. M. C. Phariss, entered the Army Feb. 13, 1941; trained at Camp Bowie, Texas, Camp Blanding, Fla., Camp Ritchie, Md.; served with 36th Division until July, 1942; was attached to Military Police Unit; discharged Oct. 15, 1945.
 
PHILLIPS, EARNEST LEE
Earnest Lee Phillips, son of L. F. Phillips, entered the Navy Seabees Dec. 10, 1942; sent to Pacific July 23, 1943; fought on Aleutians, Okinawa; 22 months overseas; held the rank of carpenter’s mate, second class, when discharged Nov. 23, 1945.
 
PHILLIPS, GLEN HAROLD
Glen Harold Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Phillips, entered the Navy Feb. 13, 1943; sailed to Pacific June 9, 1943 for 30 months’ service; serviced aboard SS M. E. Lombardi, SS Santa Monica, SS Edward Hale; was gunner s mate, second class; discharged Feb. 4, 1946.
 
PHILLIPS, LOWELL ODELL
Lowell Odell Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Phillips, entered the Navy Seabees June 26, 1943; trained at Camp Peary, Williamsburg, Va., Camp Hueneme, Calif.; sent to Pacific Dec. 31, 1943; held the rank of carpenter’s mate second class when discharged.
 
PHOENIX, CARROLL C. B.
Carroll C. B. Phoenix, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Phoenix, entered the Navy Oct. 1, 1943; sent to the Pacific on Feb. 26, 1944, for 23 months’ service; fought on Okinawa, Philippines; held the rank of fireman first class when discharged on March 22, 1946.
 
PITTARD, CLYDE C.
Clyde C. Pittard, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Pittard, entered the United States Army in 1942; received training at Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Ark.; now holds the rank of private first class.
 
PITTARD, HAROLD EUGENE
Harold Eugene Pittard, son of W. H. Pittard, was inducted into the Navy April 29, 1944; received his initial training at San Diego, Calif.; left for Pacific July 11, 1944; served 19 months overseas; discharged in February, 1946, as seaman first class.

W. H. Pittard, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Pittard, Sr., entered the Army Dec. 12, 1942; sent to ETO Dec. 24, 1943, for 18 months’ service; fought in Rome-Arno; was attached to 85th Division; imprisoned in Germany for 12 months; was corporal; discharged Dec. 3, 1945.
 
PITTS, CHARLES W., JR.
Charles W. Pitts, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Pitts, Sr., entered the Army Air Corps on Oct. 23, 1942; trained at Kearns, Utah, Oakland, Calif., Hamilton Field, San Francisco, Calif.; held the rank of corporal when honorably discharged on Sept. 20, 1943.
 
PITTS, ROBERT LEE
Robert Lee Pitts, son of J. H. Pitts, entered the Army Air Corps May 24, 1945; trained at Sheppard Field, Mather Field and Hamilton Field, Calif.; sent to Pacific Feb. 5, 1946; serves as traffic flight clerk on C-54; is sergeant; now stationed in California.
 
POOLE, FRANK HALL
Frank Hall Poole, son of Mrs. Ruby Poole, entered the Navy April 29, 1944; left for the Pacific in November, 1944; fought at Iwo Jima and Philippines; served 15 months overseas aboard the Winged Arrow; discharged Feb. 2, 1946, while holding the rank of radioman third class.
 
POPE, ALBERT J.
Albert J. Pope, son of Mrs. J. G. Pope of Coleman, was inducted into the Navy on Aug. 17, 1943; received initial training in Virginia and advanced training in California; sailed for the Pacific in June, 1944; served 18 months overseas holds the rank of warrant officer.
 
POPE, JAMES LEWIN
James Lewin Pope, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Pope, entered the Navy Oct. 2, 1944; received training at San Diego, Calif.; left for the Pacific area on April 26, 1945; participated in Okinawa campaign; served 14 months overseas; held rank of aviation electrician’s mate third class.
 
POWE, JOHN OLIVER
John Oliver Powe, son of Mrs. Mary Powe, entered the Army Oct. 17, 1942; trained at Fort Lewis, Wash., and in California; sent to Pacific July 3, 1943, for 21 months’ service; fought on Luzon, Morotai; awarded Medal of Honor, Purple Heart; holds the rank of private first class.
 
PRICE, JAMES PRESTON
James Preston Price, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Floyd Price, was inducted into the Navy Oct. 8, 1943; trained at Corpus Christi and Norman, Okla.; left for Asiatic-Pacific Dec. 28, 1944; spent 15 months overseas with Combat Aircraft Service Unit (F) 35, discharged as petty officer second class.
 
PRICE, JACK L.
Jack L. Price, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Price, entered the Army Nov. 25, 1940; sent to ETO April 2, 1943; fought in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, France, Rhineland, Central Europe; awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with cluster; attached to 36th Division; discharged as technical sergeant.
 
PRICE, B. FLOYD, JR.
R. Floyd Price, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Floyd Price, entered Navy Aug. 31, 1942; trained at San Diego. Calif., and New Orleans, La.; sailed for Pacific Aug. 17, 1945; served three months overseas attached to Combat Aircraft Service Unit 45; discharged Jan. 22, 1946, as yeoman first class.
 
PRICER, JOHNIE ALLEN
Johnie Allen Pricer, son of J. T. Pricer, entered the Army Jan. 21, 1941; sent to the ETO on April 2, 1943, for 13 months’ service; fought in Italy; awarded Presidential Citation; was attached to 36th Division; was private first class when discharged on Sept. 2, 1944.
 
PRICER, LUKE
Luke Pricer, son of J. T. Pricer, entered the Army Air Corps on March 21, 1941; trained at Brooks Field, Texas, Las Vegas, Nev.; sent to ETO Jan. 18, 1944 for 18 months’ service; was technical sergeant attached to Eighth Air Force; served in England; discharged on Oct. 28, 1945.
 
PRIDEMORE, MARY ELLA
Mary Ella Pridemore enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps in April. 1942; received extensive training at Camp Barkeley, Texas, and at Aloe Flying Field, Victoria, Texas; held the rank of first lieutenant when honorably discharged from the service in October, 1944.
 
PRIDEMORE, RALPH HAROLD
Ralph Harold Pridemore, son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Pridemore, entered the Army Nov. 25, 1940; left for ETO April 2, 1943; fought at Salerno, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, France and Rhineland; served 29 months overseas with 36th Division; discharged July 9, 1945, as sergeant.
 
PRIDEMORE, RICHARD ORVAL
Richard Orval Pridemore, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pridemore, entered Army Dec. 6, 1943; left for ETO Oct. 21, 1944; fought in France, Rhineland and Central Europe; served seven months overseas as tail gunner on B-17s; awarded Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters; held rank of staff sergeant.
 
PRIDEMORE. RUPERT ALLEN
Rupert Allen Pridemore, son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Pridemore, entered Army Dec. 14, 1942; trained at Sheppard Field, Omaha, Neb., Sioux City, Iowa and numerous other camps; served with Second Air Force as pilot on B-17s and B-29s; discharged Feb. 19, 1946, as second lieutenant.
 
PUCKETT, LEE O.
Lee O. Puckett, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Puckett, entered the Army Air Forces Feb. 10, 1940; sent to ETO Nov. 1, 1943; fought in Normandy, Belgian Bulge; awarded Bronze Star; was attached to Eighth and Ninth Air Forces; was staff sergeant; discharged Dec. 1, 1945,
 
PUCKETT, ORVEL M.
Orvel M. Puckett, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Puckett, entered the Army July 21, 1942; trained at Lowry Field, Cola., Kelly Field, Texas, Fort Jackson, S. C.; sent to Pacific in June, 1945 for seven months’ service; held rank of corporal; discharged Feb. 10, 1946.
