Robert B. Randolph, son of R. R. Randolph of 1404 South Pecos, was
inducted into Navy in 1942; received his initial and advanced training
at Norfolk, Virginia and Great Lakes Training Department, Illinois. |

RANSBERGER, BILLY VERNON
Billy Vernon Ransberger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ransberger, entered
the Navy June 28, 1942; sailed overseas in December, 1942 for 34 months’
service; served in both ETO, Pacific; participated in numerous battles;
served as watertender, second class, aboard USS Phoenix; discharged. |

Claud Rathwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Rathwell, entered Army Oct.
20, 1942; left for ETO on May 1, 1944; fought in Normandy; served 18 months
overseas with General Patton’s Third Army; awarded five battle stars and
Presidential Citation; discharged in October, 1945, as corporal. |

27th Division; holds rank of sergeant; now stationed in Tokyo, Japan with
the occupational forces.

Alto V. Raymer, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Raymer, entered Army Jan.
19, 1941; left for ETO April 1, 1943; fought in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno,
France and Rhineland; served 29 months overseas; awarded Distinguished
Unit Badge, five Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead.

Luther A. Raymer, son of B. A. Raymer, entered the Army Air Corps Sept.
18, 1942; received extensive training in the United States; sent to the
ETO in January. 1944 for 16 months’ service; shot down over Berlin; imprisoned
by Germans 13 months; awarded Bronze Star; holds the rank of technical
sergeant.

Weldon Darman Revel, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Revel, was inducted
into the Navy Oct. 26, 1944; sailed for Pacific area May 27, 1945; spent
13 months overseas; awarded six theater ribbons; ranked as seaman, first
class.

Emery Odell Rider, son of H. F. Rider, entered Army Jan. 27, 1943;
left for ETO Oct. 27, 1943; fought in Normandy and Battle of the Bulge;
served overseas 22 months; awarded Bronze Star; served with Eighth Air
Force, 446th Bomb Squadron; discharged Sept. 31, 1945, as sergeant.

Henry F. Rider entered the Army Oct. 9, 1944; trained at Fort Sam Houston,
San Antonio, Camp Hood; sent to Pacific March 28, 1945; spent 19 months
overseas; was attached to 37th Division; held the rank of private, first
class, when discharged.

James A. Robbins, Jr., son of J. A. Robbins, was inducted into the
Army and received training at Camp Hood and Fort Ord, California; fought
in Pacific Theater of Operations; served overseas 15 months; held the rank

Ewel R. Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Roberts, entered the Naval
Air Corps on Nov. 11, 1944; trained at Corpus Christi, Hitchcock, and New
Orleans, Louisiana; was awarded the American Theater Ribbon.

Texas; was inducted into the Army Nov. 30, 1940; received training at Fort

with 36th Division; was technical sergeant; discharged.

Field and in Washington; was sergeant; discharged in May, 1946.

Eighth Army Air Force; was first lieutenant; discharged Oct. 15, 1945.
