The Harper School, District #56 in 1910, was established around 1900,
and located about half way between Shields and Rockwood, on the Robert
Milligan farm, a one-teacher school. They continued to have school
until 1914 when this district was consolidated with Concho
Peak School when Concho Peak moved farther north of the Fowler farm
and west of the Harper School. Some of the teachers remembered at
Harper were Miss Vesta Lewis, Ethel Hemphill, Henry Reynolds, Elma Maxwell,
Mrs. Myrtie Milligan, and Alma Gardner.
