Mud Creek School appears in the Coleman County Commissioner’s Court
Minutes in 1877. It is felt that this school was located in or near
Runnels County as J. M. Parks (who is also shown as the teacher at Post
Oak Springs for this same year) was the teacher. Mud Creek flows
from Runnels County barely into Coleman County. At this time Runnels
was under Coleman County jurisdiction. There is a Mud Creek also
in far eastern central Coleman County, but it is not felt that this school
was located there.
