Creamer Happenings
For the first time I will endeavor to write the news in and
around our
little town, Creamer. We have a nice little city of about twenty-five
inhabitants; have two stores and a gin. We need a blacksmith
very bad, as
this is an excellent location.
We have had quite a lot of sickness in this community such
as mumps,
whooping cough and typhoid fever. A present the health is fairly
good.
Joe TREMBLE and Miss Lou GREEN were united in matrimony Sunday
afternoon,
Rev. J.C. CREAMER conducting the ceremony.
Dr. LEWIS and wife, of Comanche, visited W.H. CREAMER Sunday.
George STEWART and Miss Flora RASCOE were married last Sunday.
Mrs. NICKLES and children from Kentucky are visiting her father,
Mr.
STEWART.
Downing Doings
Mrs. J.H. HOLMES is real sick.
Mrs. Bessie McGUIRE GREEN, of Fort Worth, died suddenly last
Wednesday
night, and the remains were brought to Zion Hill cemetery for
interment.
Her father, Jess McGUIRE, who is now totally blind, lives near
here and many
who read this will sympathize with the bereaved family, especially
the young
husband and afflicted father in their hour of trouble.
DeLeon Couple Married
At the home of the bride's father, Rev. J.P. KINCHEN, in DeLeon,
Mr. Robert
Howard WADDELL and Miss Wynoma KINCHEN were quietly married, Rev.
KINCHEN
officiating.
This culminates a pretty romance of a long duration and we
feel that each of
the contracting parties has chosen well their life companion and
can readily
see that happiness and prosperity will be theirs.
The bride, Miss Wynoma KINCHEN, is a young lady of the most
charming
character and is held in the highest esteem by all with whom she
becomes
acquainted, and being a DeLeon girl from youth makes her life
on of value,
as well as full of promise for the future.
Mr. WADDELL is a young man of sterling worth, is an employee
of the Texas
Central railroad, holding the responsible position as brakeman. Mr.
WADDELL
was reared in Paris, Arkansas, and comes from one of the most
prominent
families in that section of the country.
This happy young couple left Friday morning for Waco, where
they will spend
several days on their honeymoon, after which they will return
to DeLeon, and
start housekeeping in the T.S. ROSS residence.
