Pat Kinsey FOWLER, WILLIAMS Looking for information on Hutson Harris WILLIAMS and wife, Mary A. FOWLER WILLIAMS who moved to Ellis County from Chickasaw Miss. sometime during 1880s. H. H. WILLIAMS died prior to 1900 and his wife died sometime between 1900-1910. The 1900 Ellis County census lists their son, Glover WILLIAMS, with wife Ida, and Mary A. [his mother] in his household. Davis PURVIS, SMITH My gr-grandfather, George Washington PURVIS, was born in Sumpter, Texas 4 Feb 1857. (Is Sumpter in Ellis County?) He married Mary Virginia SMITH 25 Dec 1891 and their first child, Pearl, was born at Mountain Peak 17 Dec 1893. The second daughter, Ruby was b. 1895, probably in Waxahachie, as were the next three children: Mary (1897); Allie P. (son, 1898) and Bessie Edna (1900). George went to Oklahoma Territory in 1901, where he received land, built a one room home, and returned to Waxahachie for wife and children. Am looking for more information about this family. Terry Scruggs MURRAY My gr-grandparents, Jim and Alice McCOLLOUGH MURRAY, moved from Milan County Tex to Ellis County before 1894 (date of daughter's birth). According to 1900 census, Alice MURRAY married one John BROWN, (grocer in Ellis County), ca 1897. What happened to Jim MURRAY? Any information greatly appreciated. Laquita Armstrong PARKER, PERRY Jeremiah PERRY, wife, Mary S. PARKER PERRY, son, John T. PERRY and the family of Rev. John PARKER moved to Waxahachie in 1863. John and Jeremiah died of smallpox in 1863 and are buried using a common headstone on the top of the hill in the oldest part of Waxahachie Cemetery. John T. PERRY may have remained in Waxahachie.
