Inf; present at Hilton Head, 7 days fighting around Richmond, Va., 2nd Manassas, Harpers Ferry, Sharpsburg, Boonsboro, Fredericksburg, Wilderness, Chancellowville, Malvern Hill, Cold Harbor, Pa., Gettysburg, Jack Shops, Spottsylvania, 2nd battle Cold Harbor; wounded Gainsville and 2nd Manassas; taken prisoner July 28, 1864 Malvern Hill; released April 1865 Elmira, N,. Y. Detailed April 1864 Ordnance Dept. order Gen. A. P. Hill - able bodies & skilled; disch on Parole April 1865. Paroled at Drewy's Bluff. Served in these Campaigns in McGowan's Brigade. Hill;s Division, Stonewall Jackson Corps, Army Northern Virginia; imprisoner Elmira N. C. from July 1864 until surrender April 1865. Entered Service 28 Aug 1861. Was 21 years of age.
